Start of the season with a new panorama of the Dolomites

From 2 May, the Museum Ladin is open again. The partly renewed permanent exhibition at the Ciastel de Tor in San Martin de Tor conveys the geography and history of the Ladin territory, while the Ursus ladinicus museum in San Cassiano tells the story of the formation of the Dolomites and the life of the cave bear Ursus ladinicus.

The Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor presents itself in a new guise from Tuesday, 2 May: the exhibition concept of the model on the formation of the Dolomites has been slightly modified and now focuses mainly on the geography and history of the Ladin territory rather than on the formation of the Dolomites, a topic that is treated in detail in the Museum Ladin Ursus ladinicus.
At this interactive station "Nosta storia, nosta tera" it is possible, with the help of button, to locate the position of the most important mountains and villages in the Ladin valleys, but also to trace important historical events in the Ladin territory; the images are from the collections of Hans Pescoller and Carlo Pescollderungg. Also presented is a summary of some of the museum's exhibition contents with curiosities under the title "Did you know" and projections; the latter show places, borders, paths and territories as well as photographs and postcards from the archive's collections and recount important historical events for the Ladin people and the Dolomite region.
After six years, the bar in the museum, modernised and redesigned with sustainability and upcycling in mind, also reopens here: with a large-scale terrace - and a view of the Sas dla Crusc - as well as a play corner, it is accessible during museum opening hours until 31 October.
The Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor and the Museum Ladin Ursus ladinicus are open until 5 November from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm.
